Blood Platelet Tell the Diabetes Story
Majid Ali, M.D.
Blood platelet cells tell the diabetes story—for
prevention and reversal—more simply and elegantly
than any medical textbook or a doctor. Of course,
blood platelet can tell their diabetes story only
to those who are willing to listen to them. We
cannot understand the "cell-speak" if we keep
repeating that diabetes is a sugar problem. Sugar is
not blood platelet cells nor is diabetes blood
platelets.
Nor can we communicate with platelets if our focus is on
excess insulin (hyperinsulinism) and the inability
of insulin to work (insulin resistance).
Blood platelet
cells (corpuscles) become sticky and clump when
there is too much insulin and glucose in the blood.

Effects of Vitamin C, Taurine, and Garlic

The upper frame shows patterns of platelet clumping (aggregation)
caused by excess acidity, incremental free radical activity, and thickening
of blood. In the laboratory, these conditions are created by compounds
normally present in the blood in very small amounts (such as adrenaline, collagen, ADP and
ristocetin (upper graph). Increased platelet stickiness (aggregation) is
seen in the presence of chronically high blood insulin and glucose levels.
In my experiments, Vitamin C, taurine, and garlic
extract when added to clumped platelets broke up the platelet clumps (lower
frame).
